Breil’s new limited edition chronograph
Filippo Magnini designed the chronograph with Breil to celebrate his victory in the ‘queen race’ at the 2005 World Swimming Championships in Montreal in a record time of 48”12.
Numbered edition
500
exemplars
The 48”12 watch – a limited edition of just 500 numbered pieces – recounts the gold medal win that made Filippo Magnini the ‘Great King’ of swimming history. The resounding time with which he won – 48”12 – set a world championship record, an Italian record and the second best performance of all time. Because even a hundredth of a second can make a difference.
Performance and reliability in view of new records!
The watch is fitted with the Japanese YM82 movement, which is also capable of marking hundredths of a second, with a view to setting new records! The architecture and manufacturing quality of this movement give it unrivalled precision and reliability.
Untouchable
Spirit
Determined. Passionate and competitive. Filippo Magnini perfectly represents the “Untouchable Spirit” that characterises Breil’s identity and history. With his sporting passion, free and spontaneous nature and the courage to always take on new challenges, Filippo is an athlete and a man who has never been afraid to work hard every day to conquer that hundredth of a second that makes all the difference.
The 48″12 chrono designed together with Breil recounts his relationship with time, which has marked his sporting successes, but also his passion for the world of watchmaking. From the conception to the design to the vision of the first prototype, Filippo and Breil have built together a watch that tells the story and the values of both, creating an edition watch that combines performance and style, with a clear reference – inescapable – to the aquatic world.
A concentrate of details and stylistic choices

The colour of the case recalls the shades of an Olympic swimming pool: IP blue steel, with a satin finish that
enhances the shine.

The dial is made of fibreglass with a wave pattern reminiscent of the bottom of swimming pools. The inner flange, in shades of blue, marks the record 48”12 chrono

The watch’s legibility is ensured by the imposing raised hour markers with high-quality luminescent technology and the luminescent hands, which are partly skeletonised to accentuate the sporty character of the timepiece.

The chronograph is equipped with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, as clear as water. To guarantee
water resistance to 10 ATM, the case back is screw-down and bears the watch’s serial number, as well as Filippo Magnini’s signature.
